Lance Cpl. Blake A Soileau, 19, from Zachary, La., holds his Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, with combat distinguishing device that he was awarded in a ceremony here, May 21. He received the award for exposing himself to enemy machine gun fire while stopping a explosive-laden dump truck from entering the platoon’s forward operating base.
