Hudson, Wis., native, Cpl. Brent Hauer (right), a trombone player with the 2nd Marine Division Band, practices with his fellow Marines and members from the United States Marine Band, commonly referred to as The President’s Own, during a rehearsal April 10. The President’s Own Marines came from Washington, D.C., to play with the 2nd Marine Division Band Marines during a concert April 13. The President’s Own Marines mentored the division’s band members through individual and group practice sessions leading up to the concert. Hauer, a 2005 graduate of Hudson Senior High School, felt privileged to work with such a talented group of musicians.::r::::n:: “Music is one of those things where the better people you surround yourself with, the better you’re going to play,” said Hauer, 25. “It’s just great to have someone to come in here … that’s going to come in and really help raise the bar a little bit.”
