U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Frederick Vongher, a native of Connecticut and a Small Unmanned Aircraft System operator with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, launches an RQ-20 Puma during Operation I3C on Range 220 as part of Service Level Training Exercise 4-26 on Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, July 18, 2026. Operation I3C is a non-live fire event that provides a progressive training opportunity for exercise force intelligence and information entities to rehearse techniques, tactics, and procedures associated with information operations, intelligence operations, and associated equipment operation. The I3C sets conditions for information and intelligence support for Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operations during SLTE 4-26. SLTE 4-26 is designed to be a challenging, realistic training environment that produces combat-ready forces capable of operating as an integrated MAGTF across all domains of military operations.
