AR RAMADI, Iraq (May 19, 2005) -Lance Cpl. Robert C. Goree, a rifleman and team leader with 2nd squad, 1st Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, checks to see if his squad has proper dispersion during a patrol here. The 25-year-old from Wichita, Kan., his fellow Marines with 1st Platoon and 15 members of the Iraqi Security Forces conducted five-hour patrol through a portion of the city that has a history of insurgent activity. Two mosques are located in the area. Marines have found insurgent propaganda posted on the outside walls of the holy buildings during past missions. The purpose of this mission was to seek out members of the mujahedeen and fighters from other Middle Eastern countries. The Marines and ISF executed their mission without incident.
