Amber N. Carter, a resident of Hubert, N.C., conducts “The Marines’ Hymn” for the 2nd Marine Division Band during her visit to their rehearsal at the band’s command post at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 29, 2015. Amber always dreamed of joining the Marine Corps, but could not due to William’s syndrome. Staff Sgt. Isaiah Riley, a mess chief with 10th Marine Regiment, brought her and her family aboard the base to watch the band play. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Paul S. Martinez/Released)
