Lieutenant Colonel Michael W. Kohler

LtCol Kohler graduated from the Naval Academy and commissioned into the Marine Corps in 2006. He’s completed several tours in Fleet Marine Force units to include 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion; 2d Battalion, 3d Marines; and 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade. He’s deployed seven times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Onward Liberty (Liberia), Unit Deployment Program-Okinawa, and Task Force 6/12.

LtCol Kohler’s supporting establishment tours included time on staff at Light Armored Recon Training Company, SOI-West, and instructor duty at Maneuver Captain Career Course at Fort Moore (Benning). He’s a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare school, USMC Command and Staff College, U.S. Naval War College, and the Navy’s Maritime Advanced Warfighting School. He holds masters degrees from University of Maryland, University College and Naval War College

LtCol Kohler’s most recent assignment was in the II MEF G-5/9 and as the Future Operations Officer at 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, working expeditionary warfighting, crisis response, and Task Force 61/2 employment.
