Lieutenant Colonel Scott A. Cuomo

LtCol Cuomo is from Centereach, New York.  He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001 and has had the privilege to serve as a Marine for the past 19 years.

LtCol Cuomo graduated from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course in  2002.  He subsequently reported to First Battalion, Fourth Marines. During his time in 1/4, LtCol Cuomo served as a Rifle Platoon Commander and Rifle Company Executive Officer during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM I.  He also served as a Combined Anti-Armor Team Platoon Commander for Battalion Landing Team 1/4 during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II.  

Upon competition of his service in 1/4, LtCol Cuomo reported to The Basic School.  He subsequently served as an instructor for Basic Officer Course companies for a year.  Next, he served for two years as an Infantry Officer Course instructor.

After graduation from the Expeditionary Warfare School, LtCol Cuomo reported to Second Battalion, Second Marines.  During his time in 2/2, he initially served as a Rifle Company Commander for Fox Company, deploying with the company for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 9.2.  Upon returning to the United States, he subsequently became 2/2’s Operations Officer and deployed as part of Battalion Landing Team 2/2 with the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit.   

LtCol Cuomo next had the opportunity to serve as the Director, Infantry Officer Course.  Upon completion of this assignment, he served for two years as an Operational Planner and Ground Combat Element Integration Officer within Headquarters Marine Corps Aviation.  LtCol Cuomo subsequently attended the School of Advanced Warfighting.  While attending the School of Advanced Warfighting, he was selected to participate in the Commandant of the Marine Corps Strategist Program until reporting back to the Second Marine Division in July 2020.
