Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, Calif. – Marines from 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, learn skijoring at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center at Bridgeport, Calif. Skijoring is skiing while being towed by animal or motorized vehicle. The Marines began their pre-environmental training and basic mobility training during a 10-day field exercise on January 18, 2014. During the training evolution the Marines will learn skiing, snowshoeing, skijoring, limited cliff assault, endurance at elevation and long-range day and night movements. The concert also streamed live to Marines and sailors supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. “I hope it means a lot to the deployed Marines, just so they know that we are still thinking about them because I know they may feel as if sometimes the rest of the world forgets about them,” said Lance Cpl.
