Goeringer, an assault man with 3rd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, delivers a tribute to his late friend and squad member, Lance Cpl. Jonathan R. Flores, during a memorial ceremony, which was held here June 23 in his honor. Flores, a 19-year-old rifleman from San Antonio, Texas, and five other brothers-in-arms where killed June 15 while conducting a mission in the city in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
