Battle Colors Rededication Ceremony to Celebrate 82nd Birthday
23 Jan 2023

U.S. Marines and sailors with 2d Marine Division will celebrate the 82nd birthday of the Division at Camp Lejeune on Feb. 1, 2023, with a battle colors rededication ceremony.

The ceremony will include performances from the 2d Marine Division band, the presentation of battle streamers and remarks from distinguished guests. For more than eight decades the “Follow Me” Division has served with courage, determination and resiliency, from World War II to the Global War on Terrorism. Now more than ever, the Division stands as the Marine Corps’ expeditionary force in readiness and remains most ready in the face of future challenges.

“This ceremony gives us the opportunity to come together as brothers and sisters in arms to pay homage to the enduring sacrifices our Marines and sailors made over the past 82 years,” said Maj. Gen. Calvert Worth, Commanding General of 2d Marine Division. “I’m so grateful to serve alongside such elite warfighters. Every day, the young men and women who serve within the Division, honor our history through their exceptional work and dedication to building a better Marine Corps for future generations.”

Interested media should RSVP with 2d Marine Division Communication Strategy and Operations at 2dmardivontherecord@usmc.mil by Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.
