Donovan, a point man, with 1st Squad, 2nd Platoon, Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, interact and document a conversation during an exercise with role-playing Afghans April 16. Jaramillo a Denver, Colo., native is training for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan and plans to try-out for the, semi-pro, Camp Lejeune Bulldogs once he returns. Capt. Andrew R. Jones, the commanding officer for Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, recently earned his Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia, commonly referred to as gold jump wings, when he and Marines with Company C, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, conducted jump operations from March 12 - 16. Jones took this opportunity to get his gold jump wings before he executes permanent change of station orders to Company B, Anti-Terrorism Battalion, 4th Marine Division, this summer. He made getting his gold jump wings a career goal. - Capt. Andrew R.
