MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Lance Cpl. Josh Barrett, an infantryman with Surveillance, Target and Acquisition Platoon, Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, is presented his Purple Heart Medal here Nov 16. The 25-year-old Memphis, Tenn. native was awarded this medal for injuries sustained after a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle while he and his teammates had been conducting security and stability operations outside Fallujah, Iraq this summer. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Lance Cpl. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Nov. 16, 2005) - P.O. Joshua G. Chambers received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal in a ceremony here, Nov 10. Ten Marines with the 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion received Purple Heart medals, and 10 Marines along with Chambers received Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medals. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. Amstutz, an assaultman with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom March 9. A few months later, while attached to a Combined Anti-Armor Team, the 20-year-old was on a patrol down a road in Iraq, when an improvised explosive device exploded underneath their vehicle. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. Martinez, an embarkation and logistics clerk for Regimental Combat Team-2, supports more than 5,000 troops everyday with essential gear to continue the Global War on Terrorism.
