CAMP RAMADI, Ar Ramadi, Iraq (April 23, 2005) - Private First Class Bryan J. Nagel, a squad automatic weapon gunner with 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, is responsible for saving the lives of his fellow Marines during an organized attack insurgents launched on a observation post in the city here April 20. The 20-year-old from Jamestown, N.D., engaged the driver of a suicide vehicle born improvised explosive device from his observation post with his weapon placing well-aimed rounds in the vehicles windshield. Halsey, logistics chief, Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, holds up his right hand and takes his oath of reenlistment during a ceremony here. Fellow leathernecks with the infantry battalion attended to honor the 30-year-old Syracuse, N.Y., native on his special day. Halsey has been proudly wearing the Eagle, Globe and Anchor for the past decade and plans on serving for another 10 years. Photo by Cpl. FALLUJAH, Iraq - Marines with Company B, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, wait in line outside their base of operations here April 19 to pay for snacks they purchased from the 'exchange on wheels' store. The store is one element of the 'XO's Road Show,' a Headquarters and Service Company convoy that travels once a week to the battalion's infantry companies' bases in Fallujah to offer the grunts services such as motor transport and communications equipment repair, religious services, and administrative and legal support. - FALLUJAH, Iraq - Marines with Company B, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, wait in line outside their base of operations here April 19 to pay for snacks they purchased from the 'exchange on wheels' store. The search was prompted by a recent mortar attack that hit the dam. Two Iraqis separate from the man's group were found with a rifle, explosives and bomb making material.
