CAMP HURRICANE POINT, Ar Ramadi, Iraq (April 29, 2005) -Corporal Dan L. Grabinski, legal administrative clerk with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion 5th Marine Regiment, fills his secondary billet as the day non commissioned officer in-charge of the detainee facility here. The 21-year-old from Schiller Park, Ill., processes expected insurgents his fellow infantry battalion leathernecks snatched up out of the city while conducting security and stabilization missions. With help from three other Marines, Grabinski runs the detainees through the biometric automative tools system, which helps them distinguish members of the insurgency from innocent Iraqi civilians. AR RAMADI Iraq (June 17, 2005) - Lance Cpl. Jim L. Cullen, a rifleman and team leader with 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, posts security from a street corner during a mission in the city here. The 21-year-old from Rochester, N.Y., and his fellow 2nd and 3rd Platoon, Company A warriors' were conducting a search mission when they were called on to provide security for a platoon of Company C Marines who hit an IED. The Marines set up lookouts on rooftops a few hundred yards from the attack seen. They remained in their surveillance positions for more than two hours. Photo by: Cpl. Rodney Eric Brin, a 20-year-old Keystone Heights, Fla. native and 2nd team leader for 3rd squad, Beowulf, breaks open a shed door in a cement factory during a cordon and knock mission, April 15. The 2002 Keystone Heights High School graduate is a member of Beowulf, the regimental reserve force for Regimental Combat Team 2, responsible for a myriad of tasks from security and sustainment operations to setting up snap vehicle control points.
