MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The Silver Star Ceremony commenced as 1st Lt. Brian M. Stann, Weapons Company Commander, shook Maj. Gen. Richard Huck, 2nd Marine Division Commanding General. Stann was being recognized and honored in front of the battalion for a job well done when he went above and beyond the call of duty to keep his men alive and eliminate the enemy forces along the way during Operation Matador. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Capt. Frank Diorio, 33, from Lake Hopatcong, N.J., receives the Bronze Star Medal from Brig. Gen. Joseph J. McMenamin, the assistant division commander of the 2nd Marine Division. Diorio, a 1996 Notre Dame graduate, was the company commander for Company I, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment in Husaybah, Iraq from February to September 2005 leding his company in over 275 engagements at Camp Ganon firm base and repelling a heavily insurgent-led attack on the base. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Capt. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Maj. Paul C. Merida, from Pittsburgh, Penn., is awarded his second Bronze Star Medal from Brig. Gen. Joseph J. McMenamin, assistant division commander, in a ceremony here. Merida was the operations officer of 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from February to October 2005. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Maj. Paul C. James, 2nd Tank Battalion's sergeant major, addresses friends, family and fellow Marines after being presented his Bronze Star Medal here march 1. James, a 43-year-old LaCygne, Kan. native, was presented the nation's fourth highest honor given for valor and meritorious service for his superior leadership while serving in Fallujah, Iraq alongside 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. - MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Sgt.
