The Army air unit and Marines performed a total of five lifts; one with a Humvee and four with the tires. The Humvee was a simple elevator lift, picking the cargo straight up and setting it down and the tires were flown in a pattern around the training area.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the battalion command post of 2nd Batt¬alion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, April 25, 2014, in which an NCO lounge was dedicated to the noncommissioned officers within the battalion. The lounge was dedicated by the battalion commander, Lt. Col. Joel Schmidt, as a way to demonstrate his dedication, trust and confidence in the battalion’s NCOs.
