050228-M-2607O-003 MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (February 28, 2005) – Corporal Benjamyn R. O’Connor, a field artillery fire control man with 5th Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, recieves his Purple Heart pinned on by Col. Thomas L. Cariker, regimental commander, for being wounded in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He plans to go back to school when he gets out of the corps in a year and finish what he started.
