CAMP HURRICANE POINT, Ar Ramadi, Iraq (March 20, 2005) - Lance Cpl. Josh R. Barfield, assault man, 1st Platoon, 1st Squad, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, sings while playing complementary lyrics on an acoustic guitar. The 23-year-old Glendora, Calif., native is the lead singer for up and coming metal band Blue Collar, which currently has a demo CD out. His band has also played a gig at Newport Beach, Calif. He hasn't reached international fame yet, but he has a number of fans in his unit. For the meantime, his stage is a folding chair surrounded by sandbags. He often performs for his fellow grunts here during their downtime. Photo by Cpl. Tom Sloan
