CAMP AL QA'IM, Iraq (March 25, 2005)- Lance Cpl. Derek B. Wright, an armorer with Company K, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment has deployed to Africa and Iraq once before as a mortar man. While deployed to Africa, the Medina, Ohio, native was assigned to be the company armorer, but Wright continues to take part in missions here. The 2002 Highland High School graduate enlisted in the Marine Corps' delayed entry program on September 11, 2001 just hours after the terrorist attacks. Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
