CAMP HURRICANE POINT Ar Ramadi, Iraq (April 1, 2005) -Twenty-seven-year-old Pfc. David S. Johnson, a motor transportation mechanic with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, fires up a Humvee at the motor pool here before driving it out and pulling another one in to perform preventative maintenance on it. The New Baltimore, Mich., native joined the Marines to honor his late father, Steven R. Johnson, who past away in 2003. His dad was also a mechanic who served in the Corps for more than 20 years.
