AR RAMADI, Iraq (May 17, 2005) - A member of the Iraqi Security patrols the perimeter of the Maternity and Children's Hospital here. Corporal Jeremy B. Herndon, a 25-year-old rifleman with 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, accompanies him. A squad of ISF members helped provide security while Marines with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, and soldiers from the Army's 2nd Brigade Combat Team conducted an operation to improve medical care for residents of the city and foster good will toward coalition forces. The Marines and soldiers delivered four sea containers of medical supplies - valued at more than $500,000 - to the hospital.
