CAMP HURRICANE POINT Ar Ramadi, Iraq (May 20, 2005) -Cpl. Nathan S. Southwick, a machine gunner with team leader in 1st Squad, 4th Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, and Staff Sgt. William E. Beschman Jr., the infantry battalion's career retention specialist, hold a giant reenlistment bonus check during a ceremony here. The 21-year-old from El Cajon, Calif., swore to devote four more years of service to Corps and country. The 2001 Granite Hills High School graduate received a reenlistment bonus of $21,445.20, which is tax-free and will be paid in a lump sum.
