AR RAMADI, Iraq (Aug. 15, 2005) - Corporal Nicklas E. Schmitter, a combat engineer with 4th Platoon, Company A, 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, which is in direct support of 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, trudges through a field in search of buried weapons during a cache sweep through farmland on the outskirts of the city here Aug. 15. The 21-year-old from Stockport, Iowa, and other Marines with 4th Platoon found more than 300 artillery shells and approximately 2000 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition during the mission.
