BARWANA, Iraq (October 14, 2005)- Kuwaiti born Cpl. Yousef A. Badou, a 22-year-old scout for 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion Jump Team uses his Arabic speaking skill to buy from a vendor during Operation River Gate. Operation River Gate is the effort to conduct counter-insurgency operations with Iraqi Security Forces to isolate and neutralize anti-Iraqi forces, to support the continued development of Iraqi Security Forces, and to support Iraqi reconstruction and democratic elections in order to create a secure environment that enables Iraqi self-reliance and self-governance.
