Lance Cpl. Jose D. Hernandez, a 21-year-old Los Angeles native and scout team leader, Company D, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, demonstrates to a group of Iraqi soldiers the proper technique for a one-man room clearing near Camp Korean Village. Hernandez his teammates, and the Iraqis were performing pre-combat rehearsals prior to a raid on a gas station. Marines are increasing the amount of time spent training their Iraqi counterparts to enhance the Iraqis' ability to fight the insurgency with minimal American assistance.
