Lance Cpl. Jose D. Hernandez, 21, of Los Angeles, leads his team through a demonstration of a proper four-man stack for a platoon of Iraqi soldiers January 5 near Camp Korean Village. Hernandez, his team and the Iraqis were running pre-combat rehearsals prior to a raid on a gas station known for high improvised explosive device activity. The Marines are stepping up their training of the Iraqis to increase the soldiers' confidence in their own abilities and allow them to take a greater part in combating the insurgency.
