MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter listens as Lt. Col. William Jurney, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment's commander, introduces his Marines before the Secretary's breakfast with them here Jan. 9. During his daylong tour of the base, Winter spoke with several personnel from the 2nd Marine Division to get a firsthand account of how troops were training in garrison and conducting combat operations in the Global War on Terrorism overseas. Winter was sworn into office Jan. 3 and serves as the 74th Secretary of the Navy, overseeing approximately 900,000 personnel and an annual budget of $125 billion.
