FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - "The Marines have landed!" should have been the phrase of the day here May 6 as the troops of 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, rushed out of their Assault Amphibian Vehicles onto the sunny Florida coastline to simulate seizing an enemy beachhead. The Marine demonstration was one event to take place during the McDonald's Air and Sea Show, a two-day military exposition in which each branch of service showcased their vehicles, personnel and capabilities before millions of civilians and tourists in the area.
