MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Sgt. William C. Dove, an artilleryman from Battery K, 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment clears his mask of contaminated air here, June 20, while, Sgt. Juan A. Gavilanes and Pfcs. Jermaine L. Francis and Maurice J. Oden, artillerymen from the battery, break the seal on their masks and wait for Cpl. Michael Cronkhite, the nuclear, biological and chemical chief for the battalion, to tell them to clear their masks. ?It gives them the confidence to know they can rely on their equipment when it counts,? said Cronkhite. ?It gives the Marines the confidence that they will be able to use the mask in combat.?
