Sgt. Brian F. Shelton, a field wireman with 2d Tank Battalion here on Camp Lejeune, shows off a Vietnam-era phone. The North Pole, Alaska native is works in a wire cage where he is responsible for maintaining and repairing his unit's communication equipment. During deployments the 25-year-old is in charge of making sure the lines of communication stay open for his unit's commanders.
