Corporal Richard C. Slew stands in a lot full of tanks with his Purple Heart award. Second Marine Division's Assistant Commander, Brig. Gen. Joseph J. McMenamin was on hand to present the award. The Tampa, Fla. native's tank was hit by a rocket while patrolling the streets of Fallujah Nov. 10, 2004. Slew survived the encounter with shrapnel wounds to his right foot.
