Jan 23, 2007
Pfc. Andrew D. Bear, a team leader with Company A, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, pauses for a moment to inspect a weapons cache that he discovered, Aug. 23. The weapons cache was hidden just below the surface of an Iraqi field and contained more than 350 37mm anti-aircraft rounds. The rounds, if not found, could have been used by insurgents to make an IED. The large field the cache was found in was shown to the Marines by the local Iraqi Police, who also helped search alongside the Marines.
