MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. ? Marines from Motor Transport Platoon, Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, prepare to evacuate a simulated wounded Marine aboard an MV-22 Osprey during casualty-evacuation training here Sept. 13. For the Marines of the ?Destroyer? battalion, it was their first chance to train with the newest tool for getting Marines onto and off of the battlefield. With upcoming scheduled deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, these drills are vital to ensure injured Marines are quickly evacuated in combat.
