FORT BRAGG, N.C. ? Sgt. Donovan Dukes, motor transport platoon sergeant with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, sets the charge for a simulated improvised explosive device during a counter IED operations exercise here Dec. 9. Dukes helped create realism as part of a 10-day urban training exercise to prepare for an upcoming deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The simulation of an IED adds a sense of awareness to the training.
