Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, walk away unscathed after practicing low static-line parachute jumps from a C-130 Hercules airplane at Camp Davis, N.C., Sept. 11. The practice jump simulated a basic airborne operation for combat support, which keeps the Marines familiar with such a skill. The purpose of the low-level static line jump is to move Marines into an area at low altitude to quickly move to an objective without with the ability to go unnoticed.
