Seaman Steve Mondary, a hospital corpsman with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment spends time with his girlfriend Sept. 23 before leaving to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marines from 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines are deploying to Al Anbar province to support Iraqi forces in security operations. According to Mondary, corpsman are the medical backbone of the whole operation.
