Iraqi border patrolmen, the “Desert Wolves” of 2nd Battalion, 5th Iraqi Brigade, 2nd Region in al-Anbar Province, hook up a “drag” contraption to the back of their vehicle prior to a joint patrol with the Marines of 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine in the vicinity of the country’s border with Syria Jan. 10. The Desert Wolves regularly drag the area near the border in order to identify and track anyone illegally crossing into Iraq.
