Reserve Marines from Company G, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5 and a U.S. security contractor meet with Razak Abid, the senior “Desert Wolf” border patrolman at Border Fort 11 on the Iraqi-Syrian border Jan. 10. The Americans and Iraqis discussed details of the day’s joint patrol. Farhan, 40, is a Dawyina native who has worked for four years in the border patrol after serving for 10 years in the Iraqi Army.
