Hospitalman Darryl Smith (right), a dental technician, assists Lt. John P. Walsh, a U.S. Navy general dentist, in removing and filling cavities for Lance Cpl. Elvis Capellan, a 22-year-old Reserve Marine mortarman at Camp Korean Village, Iraq Jan. 20. Smith and Walsh are with Dental Detachment 08-12, 2nd Combat Logistics Battalion, an active duty unit based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Capellan is stationed here with Mobile Assault Platoon 3, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, a Marine Forces Reserve unit headquartered in Garden City, N.Y. Smith, 21, is from Birmingham, Ala. Walsh, 28, is a native of Hatfield, Pa. Capellan hails from New York City.
