CAMP LEATHERNECK, Helmand province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan – Staff Sgt. Tony Palomo of Winnfield, La., stands in front of a small memorial of fallen Marines with 2nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, Regional Command Southwest. The EOD technician and team leader currently attached to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, was recently wounded while responding to an improvised explosive device threat. Abrasions, cuts and bruises covered a big portion of his left leg and parts of his left arm. He actually had a piece of fragmentation lodged in his right leg.
