Mortarmen with Company B, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, emplace their weapon and prepare to support Marines during the platoon attack course aboard Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, Calif., June 2, 2011. The exercise, part of the Enhanced Mojave Viper training evolution, serves to familiarize the Marines with operations from the platoon level, down to the four-man fire team, increasing the unit’s ability to operate independently on several fronts.
