Twenty four-year-old Chipley, Fla., native Lance Cpl. Christopher Kent, a rifleman with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, talks with the Marines in his squad. Kent said the biggest challenge during the deployment was dealing with the cold temperatures of winter and the extreme summer heat. The Marines spent their seven-month deployment clearing insurgents from the area of Trek Nawa and training Afghan National Army soldiers.
