FIRE BASE SAENS, Helmand province, Afghanistan—Cpl. Stephen Palmiter, a Harrison, Idaho native takes a moment to eat his dinner in the ammunition pit of Gun-1, Alpha Battery. Palmiter is a field radio operator and a provisional cannon crewman with 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment.
