A Marine with 8th Communication Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, carries a training improvised explosive device during a patrol to set up a roadside ambush for an enemy squad during the expeditionary communication training held aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 25. During their training, the Marines took part in scenarios in which squads established patrol bases and began sending out patrols in search of the enemy squad while remaining prepared to defend against assaults and ambushes.
