Corporal Michael S. Ussery, a Rochelle, Ga., native and a team leader with 3rd Platoon, scans the adjacent village for insurgent activity. Third Platoon belongs to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, and was responsible for clearing a number of compounds and objectives during the initial phase of Operation Double Check, an operation to promote legitimate governance and security within the Musa Qal’eh district. Third Platoon conducted day and night patrols on the outskirts of the local villages and set in place a secure foundation for Afghan Uniformed Police security posts to be built.::r::::n::::r::::n::::r::::n::
