Lance Cpl. Rene A. Herrera, an electrician with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, fires his M-4 at green, pop-up targets at various unknown distances April 4. Herrera, a Hempstead, N.Y., native, is training with Charlie Company for his second deployment to Afghanistan. The exercise also included a live night fire with night vision goggles.
