Marines and sailors with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, make their way down the final stretch of a six-mile hike as part of a battalion training event May 4. The Marines began the movement at 5:30 a.m. wearing a flak jacket, kevlar helmet and assault pack. The Marines broke down into their respective sections and cycled through four additional training courses after the two-hour hike. The additional events included the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program; a portion of the Marine Corps Combat Fitness Test called maneuver under fire; dynamic workouts and the obstacle course.
