Major Gen. W. Lee Miller Jr. (center), the assistant division commander of 2nd Marine Division, presents Sgt. Maj. John C. Carman (right) of Toledo, Ohio, the Meritorious Service Medal – the thid of Carman’s 28-year career – during Carman’s retirement ceremony May 11.
