An Afghan worker shovels dirt while digging a water canal in Musa Qal’eh, Jan. 25. Every public work and improvement is entirely built by Afghan workers contracted by either the Afghan government or 1st Bn., 8th Marines. There are between four to five hundred Afghan workers contracted for work on such projects daily.
