Lance Cpl. Matthew T. Earle, a Manassas, Va., native and an assaultman with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, returned to Marjah less than a year after he was shot in the side during an insurgent ambush. The injury almost claimed his life, but he recovered and is now back in Marjah setting the example for his junior Marines.
